SEEND PARISH COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES - SEPTEMBER 2004.

The September Meeting was attended by 9 Councillors, and County Councillor Mrs.P.Rugg with the Vice-Chairman, Mr. Tucker, in the chair.

The Parish Council considered various matters arising concerning signing and clearing of footpaths in the Parish, location and maintenance of bus stops, trimming of hedges, weight restrictions on canal bridges, dog waste bins on the canal towpath and restoration of milestones.

The Parish Council considered the following planning application, and no objections raised :

K/50782/F. Mr.B.Atkinson. Erection of two storey thatched extension at The Thatched Cottage, Baldham.
Objections were raised to the following application :
K/50900/F. Mr.J.MacDonald. Erection of post and wire fence. Form new access from Rusty Lane and re-arrange existing access, including gates, retaining walls, fencing and surfacing at land north of The Lye, Seend.

The P.C. objects to the gateway being moved and made larger. The removal of natural hedging, blocking off access to the public footpath and erection of additional fencing.

There were a number of items of correspondence, including the drawing up of a Conservation Area Statement for Seend. This has been commissioned by Kennet District Council. The Parish Council are inviting the Architect concerned to attend a Parish Council Meeting, to outline the Conservation Area study.

The next waste skips will be placed at the following locations and dates :
29th October Wessex Water Site: 26th November Three Magpies.

The Parish Council are concerned at the congestion being caused by the number of cars parking near the canal at Sells Green and at the speed of traffic using Rusty Lane in the mornings when children are being brought to the playgroup at the Pavilion.

The next meeting of the Council will be held at Seend Social Club on Tuesday, 26th October, 2004 at 7.30p.m.
