The meeting held on 27th May was attended by 9 Councillors.
The first item on the agenda was election of Chairman for the coming year. Mr. Clifford Smith was proposed, seconded and all members present voted in favour. Mr. Michael Davis was proposed and seconded as Vice-Chairman, and all members present voted in favour.
Mr. Smith thanked the members for electing him, and also thanked the outgoing Chairman, Mrs. Savage, for all the work she had done during the previous two years.
The following planning applications have been approved
K/58463/TR1 Mr S Grimes, Manor Field, High Street
Crown raising of trees to the south of the property by removing the lower branches
to a height of 2 metres to clear the adjacent footpath. The trees are protected
by tree
preservation order 229-G1 which is a group comprising beech and holly.
K/58470/F Mr J Steel, Well Cottage, 92 Seend Cleeve
Demolition of existing conservatory, proposed single storey garage and rear
two storey extension
The following application has been refused
K/58410/F Mr & Mrs Shearmon, Spiderweb Paddock, Rusty Lane, Seend
2 pole barns, one for storage of farm machinery and one for hay and straw
The reasons for refusal were that the site is located in the open countryside in a prominent position visible from public rights of way. The erection of the buildings would have an adverse impact on the appearance of the landscape and would conflict with policies PD1 (B3) and NR6 of the Kennet Local Plan 2011.
The following applications were considered, and no objections raised:
K/58717/F Mr Bartholomew and Miss Scott, Blackwell Cottage, Bell Hill, Seend
Two storey side extension, single storey rear extension and detached garage
