SEEND PARISH COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES - JUNE 2005.

The June Meeting was attended by 8 Councillors, with the Chairman, Mr. Smith in the chair.

The new oak notice board has now been erected in the Lye Field. Anyone wishing to place a notice can obtain the key from Mr. Ewin at Cranbelle, Rusty Lane, or the village shop.

The situation with regard to parking at the car boot sales appears to have improved considerably, and there have not been any further problems with cars parking in Station Road.

The Parish Council considered the following planning applications, and no objections raised:

K/52259/F. Mr. & Mrs. Appleby, 14 Perry Lane, Seend Cleeve. Rear
conservatory.
K/52275/F. Mr. & Mrs. Kirby, Cleeve Cottage, Trowbridge Road, Seend.
Two storey extension, porch, conservatory, garage, stable.
K/52287/F. Mr. A'Bear, Knightsmead Farm, Inmarsh, Seend.
Extension to Slurry store.
K/52316/F. Mr. & Mrs. Whitehead, Pelch Cottage, 62 Seend Cleeve.
Erection of rear conservatory.
K/52325/LBC. Mr. & Mrs. Bowes, Rowcroft Cottages, Spout Lane, Seend.
Erection of single/two storey rear extension and associated work

BT has contacted the Parish Council concerning the telephone box in Seend Cleeve, suggesting that it becomes cashless. This box has a low use, and BT is considering removing such boxes. The PC feels that making it cashless is preferable to removing it altogether.

Seend PCC is concerned about the parking on the High Street for church services. The PC will endeavour to obtain traffic cones to be placed along the high Street from the Post Office to the start of the Lye Field, when church services are taking place, to improve visibility for cars emerging from Rusty Lane on to the High Street.

The next waste skips will be placed at the following locations and dates:
Friday, 29th July at Three Magpies.

Friday, 26th August at Wessex Water site.

The next meeting of the Council will be held at Seend Social Club on Tuesday,

Mrs. Rosemary Fisher, Clerk to the Council.
