SEEND PARISH COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES - FEBRUARY 2006.

The February meeting was attended by 9 Councillors, with Mr. Smith in the chair.

Permission has been approved by Kennet District Council for the following applications:

Trowbridge Road, Seend

Erection of barn and creation of hardstanding.

K/53432/F Mr & Mrs J Welton 2 Row Lane, Seend

Wiltshire County Council have indicated that Sells Green nameplates will be added to the speed limit terminal signs, and these should be put in place in May. Kennet DC has ordered two new signs for Spout Lane, and the Sells Green sign at the bottom of the lane will be removed.

Some concern was expressed about drainage problems at the back of the cottages on the corner of Berhills Lane, and it is hoped that the infilling of the Equestria Railway Bridge will not exacerbate this problem. Wiltshire County Council will be advised of the PC’s concern.

Seend will be taking part in the Best Kept Village Competition again this year, and judging will take place in May – giving us all time to tidy up beforehand!

Kennet DC have advised that they will be moving to an alternate weekly collection of refuse and recycling in July 2006. Wheeled bins will be delivered to every household in Seend in the fortnight commencing 22nd May, and the first collection day will be Wednesday 12th July. An article will appear in Spotlight in the near future.
It has been noted that unauthorized waste is being placed in the village skips. Please remember that unwanted household items such as suites of furniture, old refrigerators or cookers etc., can be taken to the Recycling Centre at Bowerhill, or can be collected by Kennet DC for a small fee.

Complaints have been received about horse manure on footpaths. Riders please ensure that you clean up after your horse.

The date of the next meeting will be Tuesday, 28th March at Seend Social Club at 7.30 pm

Mrs. Rosemary Fisher, Clerk to the Council.
