The December Meeting was attended by 7 Councillors and County Councillor Mrs. P. Rugg under the Chairmanship of Mr. Chris Smith.
The Chairman hoped to have a meeting with Mr. Yockney shortly about the Village web site.
Wiltshire County Council would be asked if they could cut the footpath from The Bell Inn to The Stocks one extra time during the summer, as it tends to become overgrown at this time.
County Councillor Mrs. Rugg would discuss the Seend School Travel Plan with the School governing body and the Road Safety Officer.
Wiltshire County Council would be reminded about the drainage in Spout Lane.
The following application has been refused permission by Kennet D.C. Erection of an extension to form new rooms over two floors at 3 Hill Crest, School Road.
The Parish Council would raise an objection to an application by Enterprise Inns plc for demolition of the Old Coach House at The Brewery Inn, Seend Cleeve until it was known what would replace the proposed demolished building.
The Parish Council considered the following applications and no objections raised:
Single storey rear extension and double garage at 11 Seend Cleeve. Mr. Beasley left the room during discussion of this application. Rainwater goods renewal- Addition of felt, insulation and new flashings to roof. Addition of skylights to outshot roof at rear at The Old Post Office, 1 High Street, Seend.
Reorganisation of the single storey utility and W.C. area to form a new utility, shower room and lobby with storage over at Old Wyatts, Row Lane. Internal and external alterations to Coach House to form new ancillary residential accommodation at Old Wyatts, Row Lane, Seend. Internal and external alterations to Coach House adjacent to main property to form new ancillary residential accommodation at Old Wyatts, Row Lane, Seend.
The next waste skips will be placed at the following locations and dates:
30th January - Wessex Water Site, Seend Cleeve: 27th February - Three Magpies, Sells Green. 26th March - Seend Social Club.
This was Mr. Hopkins last meeting as Parish Clerk. He thanked the Chairman and Councillors for their support during his term as Parish Clerk, and said that it had been a pleasure to work with them all. He commented that Seend Parish Council had only had three Parish Clerks in 45 years.
The next meeting of the Parish Council will take place at Seend Social Club on Tuesday, 27th January, commencing at 7.30p.m. The meeting for February will be on Tuesday, 24th at 7.30p.m. in Seend Social Club. All parishioners are welcome to attend as observers.
